Problem:
Create a JPEG image in Photoshop CS4, and then try to ‘save the image as’ a filetype, the program crashes and brings up the ‘Send MS Error Report’ dialogue box.
Event Viewer text:
Heading: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error
Body Text: Faulting application photoshop.exe, version 11.0.0.0, stamp 48d3882e, faulting module photoshop.exe, version 11.0.0.0, stamp 48d3882e, debug? 0, fault address 0x00cc955a.
* Uninstalled PS CS4 and then re-installed it. (does not fix this)
* Uninstalled .Net 2 and re-installed and applied all service packs (does not fix this)
Solution:
Disable Version Cue in the Preferences dialogue. Works for both CS3 and CS4 version of Photoshop.
Thanks!! fixed my crashing problem.
welcome!
This isn’t working for me… I’m trying to save a .psd file as a .jpg. When I do this, Photoshop sort of stops working. I can see Open Recent and Close in the File menu, but that’s it. Every other menu option is faded. No .jpg file is created. I have read other forums that say to make sure I’m saving as 8-bit, which I am. Turning of Version Cue didn’t help. I have to use Task Manager to quit Photoshop. Any ideas? Thanks!
What version of photoshop? Mac or Pc?
11.0. PC.

Thanks…I've wrestled with this problem for weeks. If only I'd known how simple it was to solve! I appreciate your posting the solution on-line!

Thanks so much! this solved my problem, and I was getting pretty frustrated! Awesome!
i have mac with leopard, and i cannot save from .psd to photoshop pdf. as soon as i try, the app crashes.
this problem existed in CS3 as well as when i upgraded to CS4. any solutions? i have already tried unchecking the version cue box, with no results.
Yeah, apparently this problem plagues a lot of photoshop users. Have you tried rebuilding your prefs? http://www.planetphotoshop.com/let-photoshop-rebu...
This did not work for me. However, turning off Rosetta under the info portion of the unopened file did the trick. (I have a mac)
