I’ve been working on a customer’s server trying to get its backups to work correctly. I saw there were a ton of log files and decided to delete all of them. I was inside the main interface for Acronis True Image. The program hung and I had to kill the application with task manager. Every time I try to delete the log files it would hang and I would end up killing the process. So, I started looking for the log files on the server.
If you install the program for all users:
c:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TrueImage\Logs
If you install the program for just the administrator:
c:\Document and Settings\administrator\Application Data\TrueImage\Logs
There were over 56,000 files in the log folder. Yeah something was wrong, so I went to work deleting those files. I couldn’t just select all and press delete. For some odd reason it ignored my commands. So, I deleted the entire log directory from the TrueImage folder.
Once you launch Acronis True Image again, the Log folder will recreate itself.
