Maker: Seagate Technologies
Software: Seagate Manager
Version: 2.1.48
Operating System: Windows 7 RC1
I’ve installed the old version of Seagate Manager that came with the drive and it worked. I went ahead and did the auto update for the Seagate Manager. The latest version worked perfectly for Windows 7 RC1. I did a simple test to make sure it would backup and restore properly.I backed up a folder using the Seagate Manager software. The next step was to mimic real life so I deleted my files. Next, I did the “restore most recent version“. The Seagate Manager just restored the files I deleted to the external backup. It opened an explorer (my computer) window with the restored files location. The restore option will have a message below telling you to drag-n-drop the files where you want it. So, from the little I did, 100% okay on my end.
Seagate does not officially support Windows 7 right now. So, you have been warned.
Supported Operating Systems: Windows Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, Windows XP Home, XP Professional, XP Media Center Edition
Now supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the above operating systems.
I took some screenshots during the installation, backup, and restore.
It is quite problematic to use it in Windows 7, especially the synchronization part.
