I setup the Western Digital ShareSpace NASĀ for a client last week. The client’s office consisted of 3 workstations and 1 server. The WD ShareSpace main purpose was for backing up the client’s file server and keeping copies of all the files they scanned using their new copier.
The ShareSpace NAS came with raid 5. The speed was impressive, but the deal breaker for me was the software that came with it. It was clunky and way over the top. Western Digital tried to make it as simple as possible for a regular user, but some how missed the mark.
Overall it’s a decent piece of hardware.
