Pneumonia + Diabetes = A Really Bad Time

LungsXrays

I came down with a type of pneumonia last weekend. The doctors had no idea what type of bacteria that was in my lungs. So, they just through everything they had at it. By the end of this week I was doing better.

From the title, you probably have figured out that I’m a diabetic. My doctors took my A1C test and flipped out. It was 9.4. A normal A1C is under 6.0 or 7.0

Okay, so I have a problem. I’m 23 years old and feel like superman most of the time. I just take my insulin and keep going through out my day.

After spending 5 days in the hospital, 1 day at the family doctor, and 5 hours in the ER, I’m about to change my ways.

I’m not up to full speed, but I’m getting there…
