Apple’s Safari Review

safari1stI heard Apple released a windows version of Safari. I downloaded it the very same day it came out. It took a LONG time to actually bring up the application. Then once the application was up it didn’t have all the labels and wasn’t functional at all.
A couple days later apple’s
automatic updates kicked in and asked to update Safari, I said: ” sure why not, maybe it will fix some of my bugs…”It downloaded and installed and to my surprise it didn’t fix anything on my installation.

Overall on the first try it didn’t install correctly and doesn’t function. After the updates it still doesn’t function. I will just probably have uninstall and reinstall it. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the picture of my installed safari. I give it a F because it just didn’t work on the first try.

Tournament.com

I haven’t played Counter Strike:Source in a while, maybe over a year or so. I saw a google ad for something called Tournament.com a while back. I tried it out last night and won $2.85 usd for playing counter strike like I would usually.

Right now Tournament.com is in the BETA phase (aren’t we all?). You can play all the games you want, right now, for free. No entry fees or member sign up fees. Depending on what type of game you want to play is the amount of money you will get if you win.

Right now they offer two game titles: CS:S and Half-Life2:Deathmatch

Classic Mode:
Winning teams splits the money up 5 ways.

Deathmatch:
Top 3 players. Top 3 players get a share of the prize fund (1st - 50%, 2nd - 30%, 3rd - 20%)

GunGame:
Top 2 players:Two payout options available - winner takes all or top 2 split the prize fund (1st - 70%, 2nd - 30%):

Once they go live there will be big winnings and hopefully still have some free entry games like they do right now. Free entry games payout around $3.50 - $3.75. It ain’t much, but once you start playing it gets addictive. DialerDave is right about me… I’m a living advertisement. :)

Got 20 million USD? Transfer It To My Account :)

FTC
I work for a small internet service provider, that of course provides email accounts to all its customers. We also do website design so there some more email accounts if you throw them in there.

I was given the task of stopping spam and filtering unwanted emails. So, I’ve had to deal with spam and phishing activities before. This is probably why I’m so passionate about stopping spam and such.

Recently my girlfriend has been complaining about getting emails that want her banking account information to help some poor soul in Africa transfer some money.I believe we all get these emails time from time.

I usually tell her to delete them and put them on her block sender list, which really needs to be blocked by IP address rather than the sender’s email address.

I was doing some blog reading this morning and ran across my congressman’s website and he actually gave a link to where you can forward these emails to. I figured if the old fart can put that on his site so can I.

I know what a lot of you are thinking, that this won’t do a bit of good. Well, maybe so, but I have to try. I would like to think that federal workers try to accomplish something before they go home each day.

The Federal Trade Commission is the organization that is running the website onguard.gov

You will need to forward spam that is phishing for information to spam@uce.gov and to the company, bank, or organization impersonated in the phishing email. You also may report phishing email to reportphishing@antiphishing.org. The Anti-Phishing Working Group, a consortium of ISPs, security vendors, financial institutions and law enforcement agencies, uses these reports to fight phishing.
