I had a customer bring in her computer saying she lost all her e-mail messages. I open Outlook Express and yes the e-mails were in fact gone. The problem was that she had saved every e-mail from 5 years ago. Her inbox file had around 9,000 messages with attachments. She had been compacting the file when OE suggested to. She has probably compacted many times over causing corruption in the file.

Logmein put out an update for the week of 8/6/2007. AVG flagged their display driver for a virus. If you have received a message about updating LogMeIn, don’t until you have the latest AVG definitions.

Microsoft Word Error:

“Changes have been made to the global template, Normal. Do you want to save these changes?”

I had a customer come to me saying that her iBook would not let her log on using her password. Now, I’ve been in IT for a while and know that customers forget their passwords, mistype, or just flat out forget the password altogether. Did I mention they forget the password! Not so, with this case.
