Solved: Memorex MEM48U Scanner + Ubuntu

I’ve got this really old Memorex scanner that I cannot use. Memorex stop supporting the drivers with Windows XP.  I’ve looked for vista and Windows 7 drivers and can’t find any that are compatible. I really don’t want to have to spend money on a new scanner. I do however have a Ubuntu box I play on every now and again. So, I decided to give Ubuntu a shot at it…

The scanner was recognized by Ubuntu 10.04, but wouldn’t scan a document. So I started surfing the web and found a sure enough fix. Continue Reading....
