It’s been over two weeks since I received my books on the MCAD exam. I’ve read about a 1/4 of the book. A lot of it is stuff I already knew. Most of the stuff I learned through C++ in college. The rest of it is from experience.
The book is published by Microsoft Press. Its written by Matthew A. Stoecker. The time line to read this book and take three exams to be a MCP looks a littler harder now. There is over 500 pages in this book and I’m sitting on page 123. I do know I got to keep my goals small enough to accomplish something much larger.

Pontotoc Progress ©2007
Where: Pontotoc, MS
When: Jan-February of 2007 (unsure of exact date)
We don’t know why, nor do we know who attempted this. It happened on a Hwy 6 going into Lee County coming from Pontotoc County. Local police and law enforcement couldn’t determine anything about the attack other than it was an attack…wow!
The land in which the bridge and new highway was built on, was taken or acquired by the Mississippi highway department. I was even in a court case about the land acquisitions of the State Department taken some land from a guy who lives about a stones throw from the bridge. Either way, it could have been somebody pissed off at the whole acquisition deal, or just a bunch of drunk rednecks. Either way…nobody knows.
All we know is they used an unknown explosive device. Evidence was sent off to a crime lab, but absolutely no information on the results have been reported. To see a high resolution picture click here .
There was a small article that ran in the Pontotoc Progress about this event, but no real details was given other than what you read here.
UPDATE
On Wednesday the 7th of March the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) repaired the bridge going into Tupelo. It looks as if it never happened.

“If the backlight on your computer suddenly stopped working but you still can see a faint image, then most likely the problem is caused by a failed FL inverter board.”
FL inverter board. This board is responsible for converting low voltage DC power (point 3) to high voltage AC (point 4), necessary to light up the backlight bulb. If the FL inverter board is bad, the LCD screen (backlight bulb) will not light up when you turn on the laptop, but you still should be able to see a very dim image on the screen.
Last week I had a guy bring in his laptop claiming he could still see the image on his laptop screen, but it wasn’t bright at all. When the laptop arrived it powered up and I saw a good working Laptop screen full of color.
After about 10 seconds the screen seemed to go black or turn off. At first I thought it was the blacklight going bad, but the guy was right about the screen being “dim”.
I could actually still see the desktop and all the workings of the computer, but it was so dim you could hardly make it out.
After looking at Google for about 5 minutes, I declared the FL inverter board was bad.
The replacement cost about $100.00 and then of course my company had to charge for labor. After the new board was popped in everything went back to work.
So, if you have a screen that is dim, faint, or barely visible….you might have a bad FL inverter board.

Yeah, I know you probably have seen this before, but I’m putting this down so I don’t forget it. Its just freaking amazing to see the images Google Maps can produce.
This is a cruise missile in flight that was at this location:38°13′36.38″N, 112°17′56.59″W
